Moonlight on Gigante beach
I catch a ripple of quicksilver
Inside a cresting wave
A breathless glimpse of the fringe of some
Underwater spectacular
The lights of Atlantis, or
The fireworks of mating fish
The wave slams in spume and spray
Then, gentled, fizzes about my feet
Singing
"Each night the moonlight dances
Across me as I rise
And one night I will catch her
And she will be my bride."
