Thanks to my wife Laura, I've discovered how wonderful it is to be loved by an animal*. In my view, it's the ideal love. Unconditional. Unstinting. Nonjudgmental. All they ask of you is your presence, your existence. That is enough.

We should all aspire to love like that.
